THE MUSIC OF STRANGERS: YO YO MA AND THE SILK ROAD ENSEMBLE OPENS IN THEATERS ON JUN 10TH.

Inspired by his curiosity about the world and eager to forge connections across cultures, disciplines and generations, cellist Yo-Yo Ma founded the nonprofit organization Silkroad, a collective of rooted explorers, inclusive independents, storytelling musicians, passionate learners, connected nomads and cultural entrepreneurs. In 2000 the Silk Road Ensemble was formed in order to bring together innovative performers and composers representing traditions from around the world.

Oscar©-winning documentarian Morgan Neville’s film follows this group of diverse instrumentalists, vocalists, composers, arrangers, visual artists and storytellers as they explore the power of music to preserve tradition, shape cultural evolution and inspire hope.
